Linux problem with 3Com lan (FIXED!)

well, first of all, it's not guaranteed to still be in the temp folder when you reboot. you need to copy it to /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/net (that's a ` which is on the same key as the tilde (~)

you should also run depmod -a

what directories do you have under /lib/modules?

/lib/modules/2.4.20-20.9/kernel/drivers/net also this

then copy the 3c2000.o to /lib/modules/2.4.20-20.9/kernel/drivers/net

Did that and deleted the .o in /etc/modules.conf and it works.
