Linux Partition Help

Help please! I am a newbie to Linux and I once created a linux partition and installed red hat on it. Now I dont want it anymore and I haven't a clue to getting rid of it. Can anyone help? Thanks. I would like to get rid of the Linux partition and covert it back to FAT so I can install windows.

You'll have to boot from a Windows boot disk and run fdisk, delete the Non-DOS partition, and create a new primary partition. Reboot and run the Windows setup, and it'll format it for you and set up Windows.

It is always a good idea to run "fdisk \mbr" on a disk you are going to fdisk anyway. This can be especially true if Lilo was used as a boot manager.

I have tried using the microsoft FDISK program and I cannot delete that partition. It keeps giving me something about no logical drive present. I deleted the non dos partition but the other partition still stands. It is an extended DOS partition but I cant seem to touch it. Ive tried nearly every option in FDISK but I've come up with nothing ;(

heres what you can do. take your linux disk (I've only done this with the cdrom) and boot from it. when the intial install menu comes up, type expert, and hit enter. now you can go through the steps until you get to where you choose to install gnome, kde, custom... in the upper right hand corner, there should be a button for using fdisk. click it, and hit next. delete it from there, and then use w to write and exit. then just restart and you should be good to go to boot from a microcrap disk.

You can just go to www.softseek.com or download.com and do a search for partition. Then just find a program that can partion both linux and fat. There are several out there cause I just had to do that.
