Hi, i just installed linux (Mandrake version 7.2 using KDE desktop) and it was working great until it hung up on me and i had to reboot. For some reason it didn't boot into the GUI and i was stuck in the shell prompt. Is there a command and/or a way to make it automatically boot into linux? thanks.

That doesn't happen unless you have to run fsck manually. Is that what happened?

x probably isn't recognizing your vid card (do you have a geforce?) that happened to me too. There's a damn long procedure to go through to install the new drivers, too. It sucks

you may have to run "xf86config" if you have the package installed (some distros do not include it automatically) and load a generic driver in 8bit 800x600 or something, to load it up, then look for your driver on the net, I am not sure whether or not this card is supported yet, though.
