Linux networking woes on Tux

Scarpozzi

Lifer
I just installed Red Hat 6.2 on a Dell Dimension P75 that I've had sitting around. It has 64M RAM so it's not too bad. My problem is that during the installation, my network card wasn't detected. I know from previous installations of Windows and Linux that the card is good...I just chose to install a Gnome workstation this time instead of Server. Can anyone give me some good websites with step by step instruction on how to troubleshoot or install a 3Com509B in Linux 6.2? And please don't suggest Redhat.com
I'm looking for something that requires less searching/reading. Thanks in advance.

Also, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

there is always freshmeat.org

Is the nic a ISA card? if so, that is probably the reason that the system didn't recognise the card.

Yeah...it's ISA. I've run RedHat 5 on this system and it picked it up fine. I've been making a lot of progress though. I'm still kind of new in the BASH, but I'm learning. I just have to get my bearings. It's like moving to a new city and trying to learn where everything is. 😉 I'll have it running in a few mins most likely. THanks!
