Linux n00b needs help

Hello all. I have a problem connecting my linux box and my windows box. My windows box can see the linux box, but the linux box cannot connect to the windows box. The windows box is running windows 2000, and the Linux box is running the newest version of Knoppix. I am also using a combination DSL modem/router. The network cards in both boxes work fine. Any ideas?

Here's what I'm doing - I'm using the program xSMBrowser to look at my network. I see the name of my other PC (Drew1), but when I try to connect to it, it tells me that it is "Unable to find computer." As the subject states, I am a linux n00b, so I don't know how to do too much.

You need to configure samba on your linux machine.
For the xSMB browser i could never get any samba GUI tools to work.
Electrode takes care of an awsome thread for people like you and i
