Huh? Those are GUIs (desktop environment), nothing to do with GPT partitions and UEFI BIOS.Cinnamon and MATE. What are their differences? And are they compatible with UEFI and GPT?
Looking for dual boot with Windows 8/10 and I don't know if that is possible. Also I might end up transferring the installation on an SDHC card or install straight on the card.

Is it possible to install both desktops? I was a Debian 6 user for almost two years and you could install as many as you liked with Debian. I had Gnome, KDE and XFCE on the same installation at the time. Only needed to log off and choose the other desktop environment.
Thanks for the answer. Sorry I was not clear enough, but you answered my question on the second part (which was if they could be installed with Windows on a UEFI system). And the link will clarify my first question though I am leaning towards Cinnamon.
