Linux (mandrake 8.0) network problem

I reloaded Manrake 8.0 on my machine (DUAL BOOT XP, LINUX). I improperly set up the ip, subnet mask and dns server information. When i open mandrake config click on the network tab it says after 15 seconds failed. Is there a way to fix this or should i just reinstall?

ya there is a way to fix this so don't worry. One of the good things about linux is that you can modify or fix anything you want (99% of the time you don't even have to reboot), this of course depends only on your skill level....

I don't know much about mandrake, but you should have a network config utility laying around somewhere...

open up yourself one of those them-there pesky virtual terminals (or consoles)....

as a superuser (in other words root, if you are a normal user use the "su" command)

In order to config your ethernet card use the "netconfig" command.

ok? hope that helps
