Damn i just got 7.2 installed 8.0 is already in testing. :) love the free operating systems keep um coming.

Also I have a book Red Hat 7.0 unleashed and i was reading through it, it seems kind of basic is there any books that you can reccomend that would be good for an I guess i would call my self an "intermediate" user. thanks

8.0b uses the 2.42 kernel and KDE 2.1.. Plus a lot of "enhancements" for Konqueror. Plus version 4.0 of the RPM system.

Sux they only have the one mirrior for it... I keep losin my connection with it.

theres like 10 mirros listed there!
mandrake beta 8.0... = 1-traktopel...
and 2-traktopel etc....
anyways, there 2 iso images you need
but man, all the mirrors seems slow
well, i tired 4 of them...
still downloading....
shoot.

I downloaded the ISOs (thank you GetRight) and will be installing them shortly. I've never had a problem with Mandrake in terms of using English. As far as I can tell, it's the default. :) A little broken English at times, so the occasion may arise where all you base are belong to us.

I read where Suse had also a new 8.0 release on the market and will be posting on the web in 1 week. It too uses the 2.4 kernal.
Hoping on of these will allow better support for the newer hardware. Like Intel 815e chipset with integrated video/audio, Kingston KCNR Ethernet cards and other CNR cards, ATA 100, scanners, CDRW drop/drag support like floppy drive,
without having to compile code and searching for left out files/drivers across the net.
