I am runing a system with WinME and Linux. There are no problems with the WinME. Linux however doesnt recognize any of my ISA cards. It has no problem with the PCI Cards. It read the video card and USB expantion just fine. The problem is the network card, Sound card, and modem are all ISA, and so they dont work....You can see how this can be frustrating. Let me know if you need more info to dyagnose my problem. Thanks.

I think you have to tell it where everything is, ports and IRQ's. I had to for a "PNP" NE2000 a few years ago, since them I haven't used ISA in any Linux systems though, so I may be off. It's my impression that PNP is really more of a PCI thing, and it's been hacked into ISA by various companies.. and I way off anyone?

I do have an ancient SB16 on this system, but the speakers suck so much I never bothered with it in Linux. :D

"PNP" with ISA is MOST DEFINATELY a case of "Plug & PRAY" more than anything - even in PCI's "early days" ISA was worse off. Gawd ... ISA & Linux ... I've completely forgotten about that ... hmm - happens when your plans to install Linux on my aged 386 SX/33 (yes, it still works :D) are laid on ice for a few years.

Maybe I should look into it again, maybe I could help out some. Gawd ... ISA ... so much forgotten about that technology already ... :(

Its a Sound Blaster 16. I have also tryed to configure the sound card throught the setup command but i get the same kind of errors. Please Help.
