linux installation can't proceed????

i just tried to install Redhat7.2 but at the step to set up partition, i can't proceed. i already leave a primary partition (drive F, fat32) empty for Linux when i installed xp pro. but now, when i tried to install redhat onto it, it asked me to define a root "\". i can't create a new/edit that partition (drive F). could anyone give me any instruction on this? thank you very much!

in disk druid, the partition utility you are using, delete that partition, and create an extended partition, and create 2 logical partitions, one will be ur root named / using ext2 (or whatever ext3, or reiser, whatever you want, not fat32), and another will be ur SWAP .. make it about double the size of ur ram, or 1.5 *'s the size .. this should work, but if not, just reply .. good luck ..
