linux - install help

im trying to install mandrake 9.2 on my laptop, and the install process starts properly. after one minute (always in the same spot), the installer pops up with an error and says :

"i cant access a mandrake linux installation disc in your cdrom drive ( toshiba cd-rom xm-1902b)."

i dont think it is the error with LG cdroms. and i also tried to re-burn the cd and it didnt fix it. any sugestions?

It could still be the LG cdrom issue. Either that (if you don't see anything about LG when you check bios) or your iso image could be corrupted.

Make sure the MD5sum of the ISO verifies.

Have you looked at linux-laptop.net for your laptop to see if anyone is having issues with the CDROM drive.?

how do i do that - verify the md5sum , that is.

i also downloaded the file again from a different server and no change in the instalation.
