Hey guys,

I want to install Mandrake on my 40gig HD. I currently have 98 installed.

The problem is, i partitioned my drive before ( 10 gig XP, 7gig Linunx, and 27gig for storage) and installed Mandrake, but I got a weird boot error of 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99.

I formatted and then installed 98, but now even partition magic can only 'see' 32gig of my hd. I figure it is my MBR, but am not sure.

Will this happen again if I install Mandrake again?

How do I stop this error from occuring?

Do u guys have any tip/tricks for installing Mandrake?

Ps. I have the 3 cds burned directly from the iso's

How are your current partitions set up?
If you use FAT32 under XP the biggest partition you can make is 32G. MS trying to force everybody to use NTFS.
Next time you install Mandrake make sure you install LILO to the MBR. That's what got messed up the last time.
LILO should pick up the existing windows partition and add it to the boot menu.
 
LILO is the LInux LOader.
It's a bootloader for Linux like NTLDR is for Win2K/XP.
During the install you should have been given a chance to decide which linux bootloader to use, either LILO or Grub, and hwere to install it, MBR or first Linux partition.
I think you've got a simple case of going to fats and not reading everythin on the screen before moving on to the next step. Linux isn't Windows. You can't just pop the CD in the drive and siit back and wait for the install to finish. It's better than it used to be but not quite.
Give it another go and this time read ever screen and understand it before moving on.
