Just partion your harddrive w/ a program called Partion Magic. But if you don't plan on ever partioning a drive again maybe just buying a little harddrive for linxu wouldnt' be a horrible idea.

You can install Linux on on your harddrive if you already have
2 or more partitions and one of those partitions is empty.

But I have a feeling that you only have one partition with Windows
already on it. You could use Partition Magic to re-partition your
harddrive into 2+ partitions. But you are just asking for trouble
with that.

You are better off just buying a new harddrive.

If you want you can install phat linux, it works on fat16/32 partitions.
Also mandrake 6/7 has an option for running it on a fat16/32 partition.

I'd suggest partitioning but I've had very little success with that... :(

No you aren't. I've repartitioned at least 15 times with PM and not a single problem yet. As long as you dont try to repartition where data is, you should be fine. Also defrag before you do it to make sure. Simple and cheaper than new HD.

buy a new HD and partition it correctly, saves you the trouble later on. I currently run RH7 with 6 partitions.
