I am having a really weird problem with linux.

At the login prompt, when i type in root(or any other username) and hit enter,
it just goes back to telling me to enter login again. Never reaches the password stage.

Trying to telnet to it, I get the Machine Log(Red hat...) but no login prompt.

Any ideas guys?

Is it just a new install of red hat? what ver?

You shouldnt use telnet.
