Linux Hardware Checklist

Yeah yeah, I know you can get Linux to run on a 386 with 16mb ram or less, but I guess I have money to spend (but not THAT much money that I can afford the fastest scsi drives, etc.)

Well, if I can be serious for a minute, it would really depend on what the primary
use of the system will be. I mean a X15 would be a waste if the Linux box was
going to be used as a router...

Everything out there is fairly fast now, so I would focus mainly on hard-disk speed. But it does depend a lot on what you'll be doing.

X15s rock =)

Heh, okay lemme rephrase... if you have a very limited budget, and wanted to make the most cost effective choices, what would you go with?

Note: This automatically disqualifies the X15... =) if SCSI at all, then it'd be the MSI-Master-S (or whatever) mobo with a 10k drive at most.
