I am a total Ninux newbie. I got a book "Red Hat Linux Fedora fo Dummies" as part of a Compute Book Club. Really I didn't want it but I forgot to check th "Do not send box." I figured what the heck - I'm building a new box and it's a good time to duall boot it with XP and learn Linux. Much to my chagrin, I discovered that the distribution does not work because it cannot see my Seagate S-ATA drive which I have installed via ICH5 on my machine (works great with XP).
Is there a way to preload some drivers so that this Core 1 installation can see the HD so that I might load the installation from CD? I want to avoid adding a P-ATA device to the machine. Please don't use Linuxese on me because I am a total Newbie on this. I have Partition Magic available if that can make my task easier.
