Linux equivalent to Motorola Phone Tools

Just switched to Ubuntu 7.04 from XP on my laptop. Before the switch I used Motorola Phone Tools to get on the internet when I needed to. Now I have Ubuntu I'm going to guess the same software doesn't work. Is there an equivalent to use with Ubuntu? I only use the software to get on the internet since Verizon snipped everything else from being accessed by Phone Tools.

I don't know how you were using MPT to connect to the Internet, but if you were just dialing up via your cellphone that should work fine with the normal dial-up tools already in Ubuntu.
