Linux dual boot problem- bootsect.lnx!

I tried the step here:

http://www.anandtech.com/guides/viewfaq.html?i=58

to do a dual boot with win 200k and Linux.

After doing the step, I get a empty bootsect.lnx file with 0k.

Please help.
