Linux Distro to Run on a 200Mz P2?

Could anyone tell me a good distro to run on this:
200Mz, P2, 128 Ram.
Ubuntu just started to load off the live CD, and won't show the desktop, it just stays orange 😕

There is an install cd for ubuntu...so it wont run the live desktop. You could look into that.

Get more memory, unless you want to use a very minimal GUI you're going to want at least 256M of memory.

I've never used DSL so I don't know what software it comes with by default, but you can still use Ubuntu if you want although you probably won't want to use Gnome.

How do I install Ubuntu? My CD has it just boot up into the live CD thing...my comp cant handle it

Did you make sure the disc is fine by verifying the md5 is right?

Yeah, the computer is justt to slow to even show the desktop, I just need to install without booting to live cd, but my cd cant do that..

There should be a text or expert install available.

5.10 (breezy) has a non-GUI installer

I would try the xfce version, as XFCE is a bit lighter then gnome.

You might be able to get away with Xubuntu, but I know DSL will run on that just fine.
