Linux and USB modems

I😕 recently purchased a dynalink USB modem with a conexant HCF V90 USB modem.
I have looked for drivers or information on USB compatability with linux with no results.
Basically my questions are:

-Does Linux support USB modems?

-and if so will I require a specific driver?

-What other USB modems are compatible?

I appreciate all help and have a good day

I don't think that will work. You need a real modem, although some PCI winmodems have Linux drivers now. The Lucent and PCtel winmodems have Linux drivers from what I've heard.

The best modems for Linux are external and they connect to a serial port. These cannot be a winmodem and they will work with virtually any OS without needing anything but the drivers built into the OS.
