I have an Asus SK8V with via KT800 chipset, promise 378 controller. Anybody have suggestions for which kernel/distro might support this mobo the best?

Thanks for any suggestions

Fedora core 2?
Mandrake 10?
SuSE whatever their latest is?
Gentoo?

Those probably all support it. Unless you're talking about AMD64, then they might not all have versions out for it (64 bit anyways). And if you want raid functionality, you should get a real raid card, although the promise is probably supported as an IDE controller.

I'm happily running Gentoo 2004.0 with my Promise SATA150TX4 controller, thanks to the 2.6 kernel. I can't remember if my controller chip is the 378, but I'd feel confident in recommeding the latest Gentoo to you.
