linsys router flashed with DD-WRT can't connect to it

I am using it as a repeater
it rejects every device
I can plug directly into the router and then it works fine but it will not work wirelessly except when the computer is directly plugged into it
using a dlink dir655 for my main wireless gateway
The password is correct and so is the channel, ssid, and everything looks fine with the router setup but it is as if it has a hidden seting that says to refuse all wireless connections

What exact settings do you have in the wireless of DDWRT? I'd say it's not setup properly.

Also, I don't know if your dlink supports it but the best way for repeating is to use WDS. If setup properly, pretty much fail proof.

When it is stand alone configured as a regular infrastructure Wireless with No security does it work?

I.e., a computer can connect to the menus.

haven't tried it with no security, bandwidth theives are everywhere
Why wouldit work if no security is enabled?
no computer can connect to the menus with security enabled unless it is directly connected

I think the point is to try with no security to see if that works. If it does, your security settings are the problem. If not, there is something else going on.

What wireless mode are you using? Should be AP. Also, can you try it with channel set to auto? Shouldn't make a diff but who knows.

I cannot get it to connect up to the main router as AP.
It only works when repeater is selected(but no computer can connect to it wirelessly).
