OK installed new router without software. I go into it (product cd) and it seems i di it all correct. Theres a link saying "I can now acces the internet". As I can i click it. It takes me to the routers default ip adres. I type it in and it asks for login/pass. What is the login/pass. I have no idea and it doesnt say anywhere.......................

It's admin/admin

Also, there is no need to install any software for the router to function. If anything all you need to do is clone your mac address.

For the Linksys router I purchased this week for my DSL, it was no login and password admin. The IP was 192.168.1.1

There should be plenty of threads in the Networking forum on how to configure those things. The exact procedure will vary depending on your ISP and the type of connection they use. I would recommend reading the user manual as a first step...

That router SUCKS, take it out back find a BFH(big fscking hammer) and smash the sh!t out of it asap. Or take it back and get a Dlink or something.

Funny, out of the ~100 units I have sold I have never once had a problem that wasn't user related.

Dlink, lol please keep the Linksys. Unless you want crap for a router of course. Ive also setup hundreds of Linksys routers, never a problem. (although dont count on linksys support, cause they do suck, lol)

I love my Linksys.. it works great. I've only had it about 4 days but it's working awesome. I love all the features it has too.

I've had the one port Lynksys for about a year now with no problems at all. I added a 10/100 four port switch and the x-fers from PC to PC fly.

Naturally I have more money tied up in it now than it would take to replace it with a four port 10/100 router, but at the time it was the way to go for me. No regrets.

Had a linksys router for 2 1/2 years now with NO problems- leave user name blank...password is "admin" as correctly stated before this post.

Over 2 year with a 4 port Linksys, and is working great from day 1. For those that have 1 port router you guys can buy a switch (Linksys, of course 😉) to upgrade your LAN.

Best regards
