Linksys

That all I want to do is setup my router to pick up my A.P (Access Point) my WI-FI in other words, like a dongle something like that. Can I do something like that because I have already a TP-LINK dongle, can I bridge the connect or not. Or would I be able to program to dongle to work with the Wireless Router. Can I do that or not?

You're not being clear in what you want. Do you want to connect wireless clients to the WRT54G? Or do you want to setup the WRT54G as a bridge and plug wired clients into it? Please try to explain what exactly you're trying to do, as technically as you can.

WRT54G is a wireless router from Linksys which cannot be used for Wireless cascading (at least with default Linksys firmware).

I understand you want to use WRT54G to receive wireless signals from another Wireless Router/AP. I am afraid you cannot do that with WRT54G.

Yup, if he's got one of the later models with only 2MB of memory, he will need to use DDWRT Micro as Tomato doesn't support it.

Linksys WRT54G can be configured as a Wireless Client Bridge if Flashed with 3rd party Firmware that support such Mode.

You have to Flash the Router with this Firmware and configure it as Wireless Client Bridge.

Firmware - http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Tomato_Firmware/Installation_and_Configuration

Then configure like this - http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/article.php/3810281

😎

That's possible only with the older versions of WRT54G only. Once Linksys find out the possibility, they had reduced the internal memory of this router.

You can do it on all of them, but you'll have to use DD-WRT Micro installs to do it and go through a step by step setup process depending on which version you have. I Have a GL, a v3 G, and a version 4 GS and they all have wildly different setup processes for open firmware.
