Linksys WRT54G ,49$ only

V5 has half the ram and the chipset isn't as fast I believe and does have a smaller flash ROM. This doesn't cecessarily mean it is slower at stock settings but it does change things if you planned on modding it with a new OS etc.

Which is probably why the WRT54Gs are so cheap now. They are probably trying to get all the v4 and below off the shelves so they can bring in the WRT54GLs.
 
I saw plenty of V4s at Circuit City.

The V5 slowes down your connection...quite a bit...it is very noticeable in downloads. I saw it happen...switched to the v4 and voila...speed back up.

Use google to do a search on the v5 and you'll see.
 
I got V2.2 running Alchemy firmware and it's DA BOMB. I heard all new versions beyond V3 are problematic wrt using custom firmware

My V4 is running dd-wrt v23beta just fine
