Out of all the complaints I heard about the V5, I never had any problems with mine and so far, it has been running flawlessly with the latest firmware from Linksys.

Have you guys not heard the exciting news? The V5 can run DD-WRT. You just might not be able to flash back to default firmware. Link 🙂

I think the big issue that people have with this is that it's technically a 'downgrade' from the earlier versions in regard to memory - and if your using alternate firmwares that comes into play a bit.

From what I've seen, the GL/v4 versions are around $60 around, so people will want to keep that in mind when getting it. (That or they could do the 5$+S/H thing with FON if your willing to take that risk...that's def. DDWRT flashable...eventually.)

My old wrt54g died. I have the new version now and it isnt as good. It's not that bad though. I'm using regular firmware and i have to reboot the router every few days or it slows down or stops working, but thats mainly if i do a lot of downloading, especially if i use bittorrent.

So load up DD-WRT micro. Should fix your BT woes, assuming that micro has enough memory to handle all those connections.

It has nothing to do wtih DD-WRT micro, but linksys routers in general. Even with DD-WRT you need a startup script. The BT problem is described in Wikipedia under WRT54G.

Micro or Standard? I'm using standard. Why would one use micro?

I got one of those at Office Depot for the same price. It was a version 4.0 as well. That was on Sunday.
