I have a Linksys wireless card 802.11b, WPC11 V3. I'm not able to get the card to work properly. It will work and then the card goes insane. It will be recognized by the system, but the card doesn't want to pick up the network and both of the lights on the card are not turned on. I've seen a number of linksys cards do the same thing on other laptops. They will work for a little bit then. Any known issues with drivers etc.?

I've tried the card a couple of wireless networks.

Thanks.

How far away from the router are you? Unless the signal is very strong, it is hard to get these things working.

I can be 2 feet from the router and still wont work. I believe it's a hardware problem where the system recognizes the card, but the card doesn't want to work. I've seen it on a couple linksys cards with the same problem.

I had a hassle getting my two XP machines to connect.

Make sure IEEE 802.x authentication is turned off or disabled...until I did that my connection would never take place or it would and soon die.

I've been having similar problems with my Linksys card. I'm running Win 2k. It seems to work alright at my home lan where I am the only user. But if there is another computer connecting wirelessly, the transfer rate goes to like 40 bps for both users. But when I turn off my computer or take out my card, the internet on the other computer works fine. I can also detect other networks with a good signal, but am not able to connect to them. Anyone know what is going on? Help is greatly appreciated.
