Linksys Wireless USB Network Adapter Problems

Though I always use a wired connection for my main PC, I almost always have a portable PC that I use wireless on.

I've had repeated problems with Linksys Wireless USB network adapaters...always the same problem. If I leave it plugged in when the system boots (Windows XP), it usually won't work. I have to then unplug and plug it back in after it is booted, and even then it sometimes doesn't work. Furthermore, I always have both the windows network process in the system tray as well as the Linksys monitor process (is this normal?). Somtimes I end up with 2 Linksys monitor processes running simultaneously.

The only reasonably reliable way to get it to work is to unplug the network adapter before booting, allow Windows to fully boot, then plug in the network adapter.

I've had this issue with several different Windows XP installations over the last few years.

Anyone else have this problem? Were you able to fix it?
