Went to 4 WalMarts around here (S.FL) and the first 3 didn't even carry the wireless access point. They did have the regular linksys 5port switch kits on sale/markdown for like 78 or so. The super walmart had some CDRW's by HP marked down to $75 from 99, I think it was either 12x or 10x speed. Not sure if that's any good, didn't need it myself.

[EDIT] A few of the walmarts had the Intel AnyPoint 1.6Mbps PCMCIA / PCCARDS in stock for $29/ea (regular 68.88 or something to that effect). Just the PCCards, not USB or PCINics, etc. They intel anypoint stuff is not compatible w/ 802.11b IIRC, but, not a bad price if you have a use for them. [/EDIT]

WalMart #4 (a standard walmart not "super") had one Wireless kit marked the 'ol regular price @ $199. I asked the man with the key to the case to take it out and scan it and it rang up $199. Maybe they'll reduce it later, but, I'll have to wait and see.

Its another elusive Walmart DVD-RW deal. Checked 4 walmarts in S. FL also. None carried the wireless. $97 for the wired.

Its usually only in certain stores. Wally World deals require lots of luck. I bought some stuff CDRs 30 for $3 a while back that most people couldnt get.
Anyhow this is worth the trips to my local W M so i'm gonna check it out

I returned it back to the store. Not even close to Orinoco by signal, distance range and got interference from my 2.4Ghz phone.

I dont think this deal was for the Wireless router with 4 port switch... I beliee that it is for the Wireless "READY" router with 4 port switch.

I saw this in a local Fry's ad going for $89.. and my first thought was holy $hit!.. PM with staples and coupon, wow...

But, after careful researching... I looked up on Linksys' site, and I noticed they had a new router that was "Wireless" ready.. meaning, you would have to buy a PCMCIA wireless card, and stick it in the back of the router.

So, I think that clarifies this so called hot-deal.

I AM USING IT NOW AND IT IS A 4 PORT WAP+ROUTER.

On the receipt it says

I just picked up the last one at the Vista, CA (So Cal) Walmart for $100 plus $7.75 tax. The model number is BEFW11S4 (not the second edition). I called 3 other Wal-Marts and Vista was the only one that had any.

Forgot: There is a red clearance tag on the box that says: was 199.88, so I guess some are clearancing, I am sure other stores will follow.

When some Tivos went on sale for 50 to 100 at some Walmarts I started checking my local Walmart. They never dropped the price in 6 months. What a waste of time.
