Linksys Wireless B Router BEFW11S4 ver. 4 issues

I recently purchased a used Linksys Wireless B Router model BEFW11S4 ver. 4 from this forum. I have 2 wired computers and 1 laptop that I wanted to connect wirelessly. I used to use a SMC Barricade 4 port wired router and for years I have never had a single problem with it. However I wanted to add wireless so that I could use my laptop without being tied to an ethernet cable. I didn't want to spend much because its a cheap, older P3 600 laptop. I bought a wireless USB adapter for the laptop and the above mentioned router. When I first connected them it seemed to be working ok, but after a few minutes seemed to drop the internet connetion a lot, both wired and wireless. I reset the router several times. I went to the Linksys website and found a firmware update so I installed this successfully. After that everything seemed to work for about an hour or so. I was looking up some info/reviews on this Linksys router and read somewhere that streaming video would make it lock up. So of course, I didn't believe it and tried it myself. Yup! Streaming video made my router lock up. WTH? Now I cannot, even after powering it down overnight, and trying multiple times to reset it, get it to do anything. The lights come on, and it looks to be working, but I cannot access the internet, or even the router setup page using the 192.168.1.1 address. This is the same using a wired or wireless connection. I connected my trusty old SMC Barricade wired router and instantly got my internet back. Is my Linksys dead? Is there some way to revive this thing? Any help or info would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

So you are trying to stream video over 802.11b to an old laptop?😕

Hard reset the Router and try to re-flash the firmware.

BTW. The wireless parts of the BEFW11S4 were lame ducks even when they were new.

Update: I got the router to start working when I picked it up, so I'm thinking there is a loose connection inside. Does anyone know how to open these routers?
