Linksys WCG200 DOCSIS 1.1 only?

When I go into my WCG200 (Cable Gateway) status it says:
Standard Specification Compliant DOCSIS 1.0/1.1

Why? I read the specifications and it says it is a DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem. I also noticed that it says "DOCSIS 2.0 ready", does that mean it needs a firmware update? There are no updates for this model from Linksys.


I called Linksys and they said my ISP would have a firmware update for me. Which confused me. I asked them if that meant that they needed to update THEIR firmware in their equipment, and they said yes.

Does anyone know what the deal is? Is it simply reporting that its working on DOCSIS 1.1/1.0 because that is what my ISP (Mediacom) is sending out?

 
I have Mediacom and I am using a DOCSIS 1.1 modem with no problems. I purchased it a while back but it was cheaper then leasing.
