I'm gonna have to go pick one of these up. My current D-link 614+ is starting to die after 2 years. It drops the PPPoE connection to my modem randomly whenever I use the wireless on it. 🙁

My wired 604 is crapping out too. Last firmware update avail is august 2003. Its now randomly locking up, and whenever I try to send voice packets through ventrillo, I get insanely mad loss on those packets, but everything else still connects with low latency while it's happening. I've tested from multiple systems, and it occurs on all, leading my to the poo poo Dlink router.

I'm definately going to try to get in on this!

This deal still works in Colorado Springs, though I had to stand my ground with the store "Sales Manager" (whatever that title means) for 30 minutes to get it. He wasn't going to match the price because, "I won't match that because you're getting too good a deal".

Shame them in front of their CUSTOMERS! Bravo!

Ken

Damn, it didn't work for me.

I went to my local Circuit City and CompUSA and both said they wouldn't match it because after the rebates it would be the same price.

According to what I'm seeing in other posts I must not be convincing enough..............

Same with me, anybody know for a fact that they do not pricematch if the rebates come to the same price.

The guy at my crapUSA said that they will pricematch the rebates price, so if anybody knows any thing that is FAR at any other stores that would be nice, so i could go pricematch that at his store and shove it in his face.

Thanks guys

Deal worked fine in NorCal ... the CompUSA manager authorized the price match to $39.99 with out even calling Radio Shack to confirm they had any in stock.

No problemo .. $12.94 after tax and rebate

Here is their policy (CC):

"If you've seen a lower advertised price from another local store with the same item in stock, we want to know about it. Bring it to our attention, and we'll gladly beat their price by 10% of the difference. If you see a lower advertised price (including our own sale prices) within 30 days of your purchase, we'll refund 110% of the difference.

Our policy applies only to advertised prices. It does not apply to special offers or promotions, including rebates, free-with-purchase offers and special financing. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide price matches online, so please visit the closest Circuit City store to take advantage of our Price Guarantee."

Note: "Our policy applies only to advertised prices..."

It's their words. Make them live up to them.

I would really bet it'll be a v3.

Yup, its version three alright,

so let me ask the next question, am i better off keeping the V3 and hope for an updated firmware modified firmware

or should i return it try to find a v2 ?

my thought is that its only a matter of time before someone created a v3 compatible firmware.

Pricematched to $49.99 at the CompUSA in Fresno, CA with no problems. The sales clerk seemed happy to do it and then her jaw dropped when the $30 in mail-in rebates printed out.

Great deal! I just replaced an old Netgear B router with this one so I could get G speeds at my second office.

Thanks OP!

I was able to get one at OD but they stole the $20 MIR from me. Is there any way for me to get that back? It doesn't seem to be listed on their website.

I also got a v3 but my fiancee has a v2 and just uses it as a normal router so I'm going to trade her and update the v2 with the new firmware.

edit: I found it at the OD rebate center. link

Thanks. 🙂

Picked it up at circuitcity. Girl used the 39.99 after rebate price, no questions asked. Miami is great for things like that =)

So.. $9.58 after tax and rebates (not counting the 2 stamps).

Thanks guys!

Heh.. I guess phoenix is a bad place to Price Match.. went to BB they wouldn't do it (even with argueing for 20min), CUSA same deal. CC did it no questions asked.. I'm gonna get another one tommorow so i can use it with my xbox xbmc.

I got mine today at CompUSA. It was a v.2.2 and I've already flashed it with the Sveasoft Alchemy firmware. Been hittin it pretty hard for several hours now. Haven't noticed a big difference with my VoIP using the QOS, but everything else works nice.

I got mine at CC at 49.99, CS wouldn't do it for me first, she said it same price as CC. I told her NO it different, RadioShack has it for $39.99 after rebate. I mess up by telling her that it $49.99 than $10 rebate makes $39.99.. OW, it still a hot deal for me $25 for this baby is worth it. NY charge too much TAX... $4.50 for this hard Rock router. I might get another one from CC or CompUSA tomorrow so I can creak my home with wirless all around.. just have to safe no one comes in my network... 😉

I got mine at compusa for 49.99. They did the PM but they didnt print me the 20 dollar compusa rebate. Hopefully I can get the rebate form online and submit it.

Whoa...long time reader.....alrite first post...here goes....I tried this in Irvine, CA at the Tustin Marketplace. I went to CompUSA and the guy gave it to me for 49.99 which is only a (100% PM)...anyways they gave me the two rebate forms and sent me on my way so after my rebates and tax it's gonna be about $23.86...ehh not bad. I tried to see if I could get a better deal at Circuit City and they wanted to sell it to me for full cuz they said it evened out...good thing i stayed at CompUSA...well good luck to anyone else who tries...this town is kinda picky they called and checked stock and everything....GL!

OMG I NEED THIS SO BAD RIGHT NOW!!!

*edit* - Picked one up Saturday from CompUSA after matching to RS. Total cost I believe is $24.11 once I get my rebates (they forgot extra 10% for PM, I didn't care.) Still a great price for this router!

I got a rev3, Sveasoft Alchemy Final working like a charm, power is boosted and VPN pass-thru works MUCH faster now on wireless (put my MAC in QoS!)

Really? I heard that the only firmware that works on the v2.2 is the HyperWRT and the linksys firmware. At least that's what I read here.

If you've gotten it to work, what version did you use of Alchemy?
