It's a BEFSR41 - EtherFast 4-Port Cable/DSL Router

I am using DHCP on the Linksys. Every time I try to use NetMeeting or any other Web conferencing software the router "Hangs" I can't connect to the router via my browser. I can still connect to all the other computers on my network. Re-booting the computer dosen't seem to help.

The only thing I have been able to do is quickly un-plug the router and re-plug it. This seems to clear the router for use again.

My question is

Do I need to set up static IPs for all the computers and set port forwarding?

I share this connection with a few other people so I would like to know if this is the problem before I start asking for folks to re-set IPs on their computers.

Thanks

Have you upgraded to the latest firmware for the router?
With the latest firmware netmeeting works without the need to use the DMZ or to specify an IP on your local machine.
I currently use netmeeting with a Linksys Router, with firmware 1.37. I connect to the router using DHCP, while the other two pc's have set IP's.

If you are having any trouble you can still leave DHCP enabled for the other users and specify an IP for your pc only. Just set the DHCP to start at say 192.168.1.2XX and set your pc to use an IP of 192.168.1.1XX. That way if you want to put yourself in the DMZ to test it, you can without having to change anything on the other pc's.

Hope I havent confused you too much with my explanation, but it does work.
