Linksys router/DMZ/Diablo 2/Starcraft

Okay, so I have a linksys router that shares my cable modem. I've been able to get it to work a long time ago, everything works, I can play Counterstrike, Diablo 2, and Starcraft. Now, when I play starcraft with a roommate, I can't get him to join my game, and I can't join his. We have different CD keys and everything. Anyone know how to get this to work?

Okay, problem number 2, I want to host a game of diablo 2, but i need a real IP address. So i put myself as the DMZ host, and it still doesn't work. The IP i get is the internal one which is 192.168.1.101. so how do i get a real IP address through this router? I forgot what the model number is on the router, but its no more than a year old and is from linksys, has 4 ports and i got it from buy.com 8 months ago for like 145 or so.

Hmm, I think the game has to support some single IP address protocal to do that man. I know Unreal Tournament and Everquest can have 2 computers connect to the same host at the same time with one IP address because I've done it. But with other games I've tried, Red Alert 2/Nascar Racing 4, it won't work. You have to remember that the only IP address the server is seeing is the WAN IP address(The one your cable service provider gives you). I'm pretty sure on this one but don't hold me to it. Check around, you may find an answer.

Do you have a firewall setup on either computer? If so, just ping the other internal IP of the other computer and allow the "intruder" access.

You'll need to setup NAT on your router in order to route traffic to certain computers. That will allow you to host on WAN-based games or Internet games.

i set myself up as the DMZ host, and disabled the "block wan access" option.

yeah i hate this whole DMZ mess with routers. I had to put myself as DMZ just so i could send files on AIM. You need to find the real IP that is given to your router by your broad band connection, and then i think you could play online with you hosting.

Okay, so as soon as i clicked on disable "block wan access" it worked, the computer still thinks my IP addy is 192.168.1.100 but someone can connect to me. Sweet, thanks for all the help fellas, though starcraft still doesn't work. but now i can host counterstrike games.
