Linksys RMA rocks!

I had to RMA our BEFW11S4 router b/c it would drop the connection every couple hours, after working fine for seven months prior. Today, the new router came (via an all-online process 🙂) and it was a new model - the BEFW11S4 V4, which is slimmer, and has MUCH better firmware than our V3 router.

Cheers to Linksys!

Too bad their products went to complete sh!t over the last few years.

Never had a problem with Linksys myself. I've used several network cards by them as well as my router, which has been used in 4 different places over the past 4 years. I heard Cisco bought them out, but I don't know if they've done anything with Linksys' product line/service/etc.

Weird too...cause they're owned by Cisco now.

So?

Their products have gone completely downhill. Their firmware update process is the most archaic pile of crap I have ever seen.

My switch is a Linksys. Old model from when they still made rackmounts. In fact, the box was an old school white box with one of their fancy pants new blue boxes wrapped around it. EF3116. It owns (Especially the manual, it talks about 100mbit networking like it's brand new - which it was when they designed this thing)

Do they RMA cable modems too? Because occasionally my cable modem will restart for no apparent reason. And no, its not comcast doing service, nor is it the signal to the modem (i have checked the signal my slef and it is fine).

I have version 1 of their cable modem (docsis 1.0, model number BEFCMU10), dunno if later revisions got something fixed, or if i should switch to a different brand.

I had to rma a power supply for my router too, did it all online, and I didn't even have to send the bad power supply back!
