Linksys E1000 and Cisco Connect software.

I bought the E1000 several months ago and have it connected to my main router via cat5. So the E1000 has DHCP turned off is is really just used for my Tivo and laptops.

I'd like to configure the Guest Account but the Cisco Connect software has to be installed. When I try to install it, it gives me some kind of message that my computer doesn't appear to have wireless capabilities (it's a desktop PC that connected Cat5 to my main router).

So, has anyone encountered this before? I am not sure what else to do. Maybe I can install the software on my laptop and configure it but I don't want it messing with any settings in the router. Everything else works fine.

Any ideas?

Plug it in to the PC you want to grant guest access to and proceed from there.

Well, that would be difficult. I thought the whole point of a guest account would be so that guests could use my internet connection but not be on my network. So, none of the devices are in my possession.

For example, a few friends of my wife came over the other day and they had iphones. I'd like them to be able to connect and use my internet connection.
Seems this is just what this feature is for, right?

EDIT: Just looked at linksys's site. It says:
Create a separate, secure, password protected network for guests
Limit access time and websites with Parental Controls
Easily access advanced network settings

So, this is what I want to do.
