I am having problems logging on the Internet.
It is giving me a "the page cannot be displayed"
However, I am still able to see all four of my computers on the network.

Has anyone used a linksys router with @home?

thanks

Do you have DNS configured correctally?
Can you ping any internet sites? (forums.anandtech.com=[216.151.100.106])

IF you can't ping, then your router is not set up properly...
Telnet into it (telnet 192.168.0.1) and the password will be 1234 (default)
then go to menu item 24 and er(crap I can't dl the manual from Netgear so bear with me I?m trying to remember) one of the menus should say troubleshooting or diagnostics. go into that one, and then select the wan dhcp release/renewal button. if it can't renew, then you need to go back to the basic router configuration and check your username, and other settings.

Did you ping "www", "mail" and "news" like it said in the manual? If not, disconnect the router from your network and ping them from a DOS window.

Yeah I have Ping the www. was able to get that address but wasnt able to get the mail address.

The problem is when I connect the cable to the router I cant get into the internet at all. It gives me an error message. However, the network works since i am able to see all four computers. But anyway I am returning the router for a new one because the power supply was making a hising noise.

Thanks

Hey, could you ping the router?

also, if you have the little pink paper that @home uses as there Workorder/bill it has all your info on if, DNS servers, you IP, your computername, your mail/news addresses.

Type ping and the routers ip address I think the netgear is default at 192.168.1.1 but you may have changed that durring router setup,

I finally was able to ping the router.

I think it must of been a bad router because I was able to ping with the new router.

Thanks
