When you go to use this brick, you'll find out why they are giving it away.

I had to return one because it would drop wireless/wired connection after about an hour. Called Linksys and they asked me to return it, the replacement had the same issue. Replaced again and this one is working very well about 6-7 months now.

There has been alot of people having the disconect problems with this router, but others have it working fine. For $5, (maybe +$15) I have no problem taking that gamble.

for me this router is a POS. i had a lot of disconnection issues with the latest firmware.

i love <3 my wrt54g though. couldn't live without it. 🙂

With my Best Buy discount and $20 Linksys MIR and $55 special Memorial Day rebate, I can get this router for a NEGATIVE $12.75! But should I do it? I don't want a router that's going to suck and lose my connection all the time. Any fixes for those with those problems?

i believe BB also has this (at lest in their flyer says 59.99 and up to $55 MIR available

That's the problem. I'm still paying $42 upfront, and then have to wait 6-8 weeks to get my money back. Then, if the router sucks, I'd have to buy another, and for the time being be out almost $100, until I get my rebate checks.

Does this router really suck that badly?

I got mine connected Saturday afternoon, I'm getting 75%-90% reception through a stone wall and a ceiling, using a cheapo TrendNet card I got for $15 AR

it's worked great so far!

Puzzled I am. Today is the last chance to get it for $5 AMIR.

Some people are experiencing disconnection issues even with the wired connection.

You all checked the status of your rebate? I checked mine and it is showing only $40.00.
Needless to say, I e-mailed staples about this. I bought two routers and should be getting $80.00 back, not $40.00.

This isn't as good as the original deal, but I was looking for a new router and found the same one with a $30 MIR from linksys making it $13. Also shipping was around $4 for me.
