If you can wait until next week, you can get the same router at compusa for $100 after rebate I think (It was in someones post, I don't recall offhand)

I'm shopping for a router/switch too, ideally for under $100 shipped. Too bad I missed the SMC deal.

This is the 4 port one. the one you are talking about is a single port, only those go on sale for 100.

SoyBoy004-
no you're wrong. Purvin is correct that both the lynksis and smc routers periodocally go on sale for $100 bucks. Yes the 4 port models.

i just bought one at buy.com advertised at 97.98. (without coupons)

it was smc and it works gr8. i would wait till you could get it under $100 if i was u. but if you have to get it now these routers are awsome.

PS lynksis is said to be faster, smc barricade has printer port. that is about the only difference.

Just don't plan on hosting any game servers with this router. I tried setting up a Counter-Strike server behind it and people get dropped for no reason. Turns out the LinkSys router has problems with game server packets.

I heard this router has big problems...a friend of mine's keeps dying..you have to cycle the power daily for it to work. another friend has a linksys switch that died on her also. so because of that i dont trust them with my data...

I've had mine for ~9 months and while it originally worked like
a champ, eventually it started to "get stuck" every so often.
Pinging the router itself returned "Request timed out". This
would happen at various times, sometimes once a week, sometimes
twice a day ... no rhyme or reason.

I upgraded the firmware, and it got rid of the bugs for like, a
month, then they came back. The latest conversation with the
LinkSys tech folks was to uninstall my Anti-Virus software, which
seemed a bit drastic. I haven't, but the router hasn't crashed
since the last power-cycle, which was probably 10 days ago.

Right now I'm keeping a sharp eye on it, and if it goes south
again, I'm requesting an RMA # for a replacement ... I think
that's good for a year.
