Linksys Router at Buy.com

Good unit, supposedly limited quantities. 4 10/100 switched ports, DHCP Server, NAT ... all the good stuff. Surprised this hasn't been posted yet.

$104.95 at Buy.com, add 6.38 for shipping ... $111.33 shipped. I picked one up so I could retire my 8-port 10/100 hub, since I don't use all the ports anyway, plus it stacks nicely with my Linksys WAP11.

Linksys Product Info for 4-Port Router

Update: Still in stock as of this update.

$111- shipped is not a bad deal at all. SuperRob how do you like the Wappy11? I was thinking about getting one of those so I could go mobile with the laptop. Hmm, I didn't think you needed the hub also?

ShoNuff - I had the Wappy up and running in under 5 minutes ... ZERO problems (that's with no excryption). Range can be problematic, need to experiment with the antennas and placement of the unit. I had to wait almost a month for it, but it's working great!

I've got a 3Com 8-port 10/100 hub that I have the Wappy connected to, and my DSL line connects to it. I'm going to ditch the hub for the switch in the router, and get a couple of other nice features too. I didn't HAVE to do it, just wanted to.

As for the other post for this router, $112 shipped is not a bad price for Zero hassle and a reputable seller. I'd rather pay a bit more and not deal with the rebate/pricematching hassles. Still, $75 might be worth the risk. Linkified

SuperRob-Thanks for the info. I have heard that the Wappy is awesome I am just not that familiar with it. I would like to avoid buying the router if I could get away with it. My goal is to hook my DSL to the Wappy and be able to use it and my desktop connection. Being unfamiliar with the Wappy I am unsure if it even supports this functionality.

ShoNuff: Actually, I AM going wireless for all of my computers. However, some of my "convergence" items (PS2, etc) will support broadband, and I need the switch to connect those up, or I'd just skip it. The router seems like a good way to go, not to mention the firewall protection.

Speaking of which, anyone need a 3Com 8-port hub?

well, if you think 111 is hot then try this on for size. Staples have the same one for 149 so after PM and coupon comes out to around 90 shipped.

SuperRob - Thanks for the info! You mentioned one thing that really got my attention. PS2 and broadband! My PS2 should be here in a few days. Just ordered from Playstation.com  I may need your help with that sometime in the future.

MacDaddy - Have you been able to "work" the Staples PM deal? Well, If I was going to buy it at $90 why couldn't I buy it at $111. I think I'm getting carried away with this deal thing.

Pardon my lack of knowledge and the fact that I'm OT, but with the wireless Linksys Access Point, can you simply plug the broadband connection into the uplink port? Of course you'll need the wireless nics, but then why would you need a switch or even a hub in front of the Wappy?
