Linksys 10/100 USB100TX | $16 @Wal-Mart B&M

Just like the title says, Wal-Mart (at least in my area...Cleveland, OH) has the USB100TX - Linksys EtherFast® 10/100 USB Network Adapter on clearance for $16. A search on Price Watch for "USB100TX" finds a lowest price of $36 + s/h at some place called Comp-U-Plus.

So, this is a pretty good deal, IMHO.

In addition, it is worthy of note that this particular USB device does work with the Playstation 2 (as stated in the manual). So what does this mean? For all of you with a PS2, a broadband connection and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, you can now play online. Yes, to does work because I just finished testing it. Works like a champ.

Can I just run a cat 5 line from my dsl modem into this device and plug it into the PS2 or do I need to use a router? can PS2 handle Login and passwords for Southwestern Bell DSL? My buds got DSL goin into one computer (wall -> modem -> computer) with no hub. Ideas ? Thanks

You can do it either way.

This deal is hot! This will be great, an external, portable NIC for the price of a PCI card. This will be great for transferring files from my laptop to other people\friends that don't have NICs on their computer. I might also want to consider this for a small file server because then I won't have to get a PCI riser card, I can just put this little guy in.... ty

Good price, checked at a walmart and didnt have any, i asked the clerk who was like "oh, we dont have any, but we have PCI USB cards" hehe. Comp-U-Plus also gouges on shipping so $16 for this is a nice deal.

If you're not exactly certain where that is, it is the Wal-Mart situated right where Route 8 and I-271 come together. I bought 2 of them, but they still had 5 or 6 left on the shelf.
