Yep. Am I alone? Linkin Park annoys the fricking HELL out of me. Course, most bands these days DO, but when this "band" is played at stores/wherever, and a;; these kids are thinking how incredible it is and how "different" they are by "liking" this new band with "a great new kind of music"(yes, I've heard that), it is just...ARRGH!!

Eh?

It's not particularly innovative in any way but I thought their last CD was damn good. One of the few CDs that actually have more than one or two songs I want to listen to.

I actually kinda like them. It's not because I think it's "innovative" or "rebellious" or whatever. I just like listening to it.

Would they be so annoying if everyone and their mother didnt like them? Just think, you might even like them too!

Listen to the music, and fvck the image. Geez.

Hybrid Theory was a great album. They were my favorite band when noone knew who the hell they were, and they still are, even though I cant stand the little kiddies just the same as you.

Instead of posting about how much you hate them, why not mention what you like instead?

Hybrid Theory was a phenonemal album and is a great additon to the genre. Sometimes people just jump on the bandwagon of disliking a band once they get popular...why didn't you make this post 13 months ago when the album came out? :p

I bought their cd and like every single song...

Maybe I am different, but I like a lot of things. I'm sick of hearing people wanting to be "individual"... if it's good, a lot of people will listen to it, so quit your f'n whining...

Great post. I'm one of those "little kiddies" (although, I'm 18). I primarily listen to hiphop, r&b, and techno. I haven't listened to or cared for any rock since the mid 90's. Hybrid Theory sparked a little interest for me back into the genre. I like Linkin' Park.

That's it folks...come on...keep jumping on the bandwagon. Give yourselves that false sense of individuality. :p

Actually, no. Screaming, cranking on a guitar, etc. is no talet bullsh1t. I can't stand hearing someone screaming incomprehensible "words" into a microphone like a freaking insane man drives ME insane.

BTW, I like Euro/Trance/progressive(Alya, DJ Hoang, etc.), and others types. I listen to some rock, some classical, some Big Bands, etc. as well.

So this is about your gripe with the genre, not the band itself. Lots of music involves this "screaming." Really it's more of a scratchy voice and if you can't make out the lyrics you probably need the ears checked :p:) The guitar is the same way...the whole thing has a very gritty feel to it and some people like it. get over it!

I suppose no matter what, someone will tell the other person they are jumping on the bandwagon. All I hear nowadays is "I like everything but country". Wow, real sense of "individuality" there....and no, that doesn't mean I think I'm different. IMHO, the music one listens to doesn;t make them different. If I listen to trance, then thats because I like trance. I personally HATE punk, and think it is mindless garbage, but that doesn't make me "different".

BTW, who the hell cares if you are "different"? We aren't in the flower-child state of mind anymore, are we? I thought that passes a few decades ago...

** EDIT: *** In hindsight, it seems you were talking about the Linkin' Park bashers. If you were, then I apologize. Kami, when I started typing, your last post wasn't there. Now back to your regularly scheduled post. :)

Oh for f*cks sake. It has nothing to due with individuality. I picked up the CD almost 2 months ago, and have listened to it all the way through literally about 30+ times. You know what? The CD is in my head unit right now. Why? Because I like the damned CD!

Not everything us "kids" do is for individuality. We might actually like the music. Imagine that? Now go back and listen to your fogey rock, thanks.

I cant stand trance, but you dont hear me bitching about it. I just dont listen to it. Its that simple. Besides, that stuff is FAR from original. Start with an oomph oomph oomph oomph add a tss tss tss tss, throw in a clack clack clack clack, and throw a generic beep beep beep beeeeeep! synthesizer loop over it. Oh hell yeah, thats imaginative. At least LP plays real instruments.

The only people I know that didnt like the LP album were people who refused to listen to rock at all, simply because it wouldnt fit in with their image. But those with open minds loved it, and next thing I knew my dorm room was a mosh pit.

My only beef with the commercialization of the band is that the next time they come to NYC, itll probably be in MSG instead of Roseland. I dont want to see them in a stadium, I wanna go back to that total dump roseland, smoke a joint, and get kicked around, two rows from the front. Anyone else catch them last time they played here with Taproot and Alien Ant Farm? LP and Taproot were awesome, but AAF got totally mauled by the crowd.
