Im not sure if they are 5.1 or 4.1 but that seems pretty good for altech lansing's with a remote and THX. Hot deal? Anyone have them? How are they? Link

The link shows a set of FACTORY RECONDITIONED speakers selling for $139.99. Please point us to the site that sells the new ones for $124 or correct you thread title to reflect the correct price and condition of these speakers.

Thanks

Is there a difference in sound quality between reconditioned and brand new? Is pcdirect.com reputable?

I got screw up with these guys , they dont return emails . I got a Chaintech slot A mobo 2 years ago and they send me a PIII Soyo. The invoice said AMD mobo, they suck.. I put the Soyo for sell in EBay and I never got the Slot A from them...

i have the altec XA-3021, i try to hook it up to my computer with a santa cruz sound card, however there is no sound output. could the 3021 be hook up to a computer? if so, what cable do i need to obtain from RadioShaq? or the 3021 only be hook up to tv, vcr, dvd players which contain RCA Jacks.

I have these and they are awesome...had the SoundWorks originally and these destry them.

I got mine through Dell last year or two for the $24.95 deal when they mismarked the refurbed 880's.

I think the only setup better than these are the Klipsch Promedia and even then it's a toss up. (I haven't heard the Klipsch's so that opinion is just that of the review sites)

I use mine in 2.1 sound since the rear satellites can be 'stacked' on to the Mains and used that way.

Hmmm... I've got a neighbor in my apts that insists on having his 200w sub at full while watching basketball... :|

I have these. I'd very much pass on these if I were you. Not very good sound quality. 🙁

well they must have gone a severely different route with this set b/c i had the ada880's and the mids and highs were way better than the z560's i have now. the bass is better on teh z560's but not by that much as the ada880's came with an eight in. sub. i would be really surprised if these sound bad at all but i havent heard them so.

come to think of it i have a link some where on these... brb

Damn Geeks, mine came yesterday. It looks like it has been opened since all the cables aren't nice and neatly tied up and the plastic wrappings are messed up also. Anyways, after I attached them to my SB Audigy and tried some testing.. my sub is dead! Well, it sound all muffled and scratchy! I double and triple check my connections and they are all fine. The sound come out the 4 speakers are also fine, just the sub sound all muffled and scratchy. I'm getting mine RMA, cant imagine what the return shipping cost is gonna be like....

2 words.. FedEx Ground. They are by far the cheapest carrier for heavy items. Sorry to hear you got a dead sub, I have the 880's and love 'em.

I got these from Dell about a year and half ago on a previous Hot Deal for about $150-170. Gave them to my daughter for her college system, she absolutely loves them. As I recall there was some wiring snafu with them so that in certain configurations the bass basically disappeared. My daughter uses them in the stereo configuration and doesn't have any problems.

I also recall several other reviews of these floating around. I'd suggest a google search to see what you come up with.

If I needed computer speakers I'd grab these. Warning-they come in one big & heavy box-shipping must be pretty pricey.

For you fraidy cats out there, I bought refurbed Altec Lansing ACS340s from JustDeals.com about 2 years ago. I thought they were blown right outta the box. Turns out it was my POS Ensoniq PCI sound card that was causing all the static in the satellites. The bass is very good and I believe my specs are 27W/6in.
