Linguistics people (or smart people in general), what could this word be??

I have to "translate" this word to an English word, and it's:

(theta)ayz

(theta) would be used in thigh for instance.."a" would be the vowel sound on "bot", "y" is what it seems like, as in "you", as is "z", as in "zion".

For those not familiar with how it works, say you have saw(theta), s makes its normal sound, a makes the vowel sound in bot, w makes its normal sound, and you have theta..combine them and you get south.

However for (theta)ayz I don't know what it's supposed to be..

The first sound is th, so it has to be something along those lines..like thoz, but that makes no sense.

As for "south", you just combine the sounds, so "s" + "a" (which is like the vowel sound in "BOT", not a normal a sound), plus w, plus TH= south.

The o sound in south is not the same as the o sound in bot. It's the same as the o sound in cow though.

And wouldn't (theta)ayz be "thighs"?

If you imagine the vowel on bot, that is, boooooot, and start to say sooooo, and then add a W sound after it combined with th, you get south.

I don't think it can be thighs, since it needs to have a BOT vowel sound..
