so, this may seem a little silly, but I'm looking for a better way to say 'word types'. I'm guessing there is some kind of linguistic term for this, but I googled for a while and found nothing.

what i mean by 'word type' is what kind of word something is: noun, adj, verb, etc. Surely there is some fancy-pants, smart-guy way to say it; other than 'word type'
