Lines longer than SMTP allows found and truncated

I know that when an email is really really long, you will probably get an error: SMTP-Warning: Lines longer than SMTP allows found and truncated


SMTP doesn't like lines longer than 1024 characters


does anyone know what RFC this is defined in??
