Lines at pump 20 min.ago..

BUTCH1

Just left the sunoco, was down to 1/8 so I put in $25, waited 3 deep, not too bad. Cashier told me it's been VERY busy today, prices are also up .25 from yesterday. If you live in the southeast and your low might want to get some before most folks get off work, just a heads up..

Why are people lining up for gas? I've NEVER seen a line at a gas station...unless it was some promotion or something.

because when there are rumors of gas prices going up, people panic like sheep and rush to fill up their tanks...

and I have a costco membership...so it's always cheap for me 🙂

Costco (and Sams) are always a little cheaper, but they are not immune to market fluctuations..

Baton Rouge after Gustav hit last week.

The next day I saw a gas station line, took a picture. At work now, if I remember I'll try to post it.

But they had 2 pumps open and a line for each. We went down to see how long one of the lines was and counted 65 cars.

65 cars in line for 1 pump.

Due to the hurricanes taking the refineries off-line, the news is that gas will go back over $4. Though the price of crude oil will more than likely fall below $100.

We rely mostly on tankers in FL, no pipeline like some states, there is a chance there could be issues with supply and some large refineries in Texas have already shut down operations in advance of Ike. The facilitys are able to withstand hurricane force winds but they are anticipating the power going off..

I have to fill up every few days... doesn't really pay for me to wait in line to get a still-not-low price on fuel.

I get gas from private pumps at work.
It is always ~$0.40 cheaper than anywhere locally, and it's 91 octane.

Ha ha! I win.

Costco always has lines around here...usually 10 cars deep at least. I never fill up there.

yea, there are always lines at the costco pump, regardless of the time of day or day of the week.

in the long run, it still saves to pump there

yeah i got a bad feeling about gas... i had to fill up yesterday and they limit they amount you can buy 🙁

I filled my car up yesterday. I usually ride my motorcycle so I now have enough gas in my car to ride the motorcycle for 6 weeks if needed. I can always ride my bicycle too though.
