Line Jumping

This morning I went to the post office to renew my Passport but I did not have cash on me (didn't know they didn't accept CC for it).. the teller had everything ready and just needed the money. He told me he'll hold on to it while I go get money at a nearby bank.

I come back and went straight back to him waiting for him to finish with a customer... he proceeds to tell me to come over and a lady on a fairly long line started to have a hissy fit and I told her that i was just here and waited on that same line not to long ago. She continued her rant about how she waited for a long time and then ranting how its discrimination (lol i think she taught I was Asian and the teller was Asian it must be why he let me cut the line) I rolled my eyes at her. 1min later I get my receipt and leave.

I guess I'm an asshole for cutting 15 or so people.

Anyways what would you guys have done , re-wait on line or go straight to the person that had your things?

happens to me all the time at the post office and i've seen it happen to numerous people. only at the post office though.

I would have gone straight to the clerk as well. And I'll bet the lady would have done the exact same thing in your situation.

you did it exactly right.. you wait for the teller to finish with the person there and then you complete your transaction.. That bitch needs some act right

When I was in Amsterdam, I was at the ANN Frank House and we waited through the 1 and a half hour line...and we get up front, and she said the CC machines are broken...and sadly we had no cash...We told her there should be a sign up!

So we went to the ATM down the block, grabbed cash, and went to the front to tell her we got our cash, and she said go back in line, then a security guy said "do IT"....like the lil good tourists we were, waited in the now 2 hour long line again...damn that sucked...almost 4 hours wasted waiting in lines. granted, that was the only line we waited in on our 16 day excursion over the pond ^_6.

You did the right thing, you had already waited in line once.

It's not any different from when they have you step aside to fill out a customs form.

So let me get this straight, she went back to her 5th grade history class who happened to be covering Modern American History and covered the topic of asian FuZoR and the Post Office incident of 2009?

There are plenty of better ways to spend your money in Amsterdam. The line was a sign from Jah.

if they tell me to come back up directly, i do. i still feel bad for the next person in line, but its happened to me many times at the dmv and courts, i dont freak out because ive been that guy walking right up as well. short minded people cant see the big picture, and generally get butthurt about things that appear to be cockblocking them.

yea I gave up on the anne frank house.. after about 10 minutes in line I concluded it would just be a house with some plaques in it and stuff I already knew. was I wrong?

If the clerk told me or motioned for me to come to the head of the line, I would. Otherwise I would have waited in line again.

Sorry, you failed hard. Despite its popularity (I know, just because something is popular doesn't make it good), the house is well worth seeing for the authentic artifacts, layout of the house and hidden passageway, video presentations and audio tour.

Among the best museums I have ever seen.

Edit: Got the 1337 post!

The problem is the person is in Amsterdam.

Why the hell would you go to a museum there in the first place?

In some ways it is such as having enough clerks for servicing the people in line. But I have to say overall it is very efficiently run. There is need for improvement but I wouldn't say it's horribly inefficient.

You should have told them that next time we might just let Germany keep their crappy country. Ungrateful tools.
