I'm wondering if people actually really use Lindows Machines for Lindows, or just format and put on another distro of Linux or Windows?

Are you talking about the wal-mart pc's that come with Lindows, and no floppy drive? Their not even near worth the money. Haha, no floppy. Besides, Lindows is horrible. Nothing works like they said, most new devices arent even supported.

Haven't bought one, because they sell for ~$280CAD here, and for just $299 I can pick up a D1800+ system with 256MB DDR RAM, 30GB 7200RPM HDD, etc., etc.. In other words, a system that kills it. Granted, I have a wholesale connection, and for those less fortunate, it may be a great idea. :)

I wish floppies would die already.

No, it isn't only you, people have been building their own systems for years (I built my first in '94 -- all 486 DX goodness). Sometimes though, you don't need to build a system. I like to order spare toying around with boxes on a custom order basis, as I rarely need to rip everything apart and assemble myself. The nominal $10 I'm charged over parts cost for assembling the box is worth it IMHO.
