Don't know... disk is at work and I'm home for the weekend. I'll have to have a closer look tomorrow.so is SSH allowed in Lindows? Im dual booting right now and dont feel like wiping out and installnig Lindows unless i know what im getting into.
Are you SURE it hangs? I put the CD version on an XP 2000+ with 512MB RAM and it took quite a while for it to load... MUCH slower than SuSE or Knoppix. I think one fo the main reasons for this is that it is NOT meant as a CD Distro, but as a demonstration of what Lindows is like. For instance, not only can't you get at your drive partitions from the CD version... you can't even see your hard drives... PERIOD! I think that perhaps because it can't use a HD swap file, the overall performance of their CD based version is slower... EVERYTHING, both RAM disk and usable RAM has to use whatever RAM you have available.lindowsCD hangs during boot on my laptop... not very encouraging

Just a thought... but put the CD back in and leave it for a LONG time and see if you don't end up on the desktop.

Why don't we use the torrent link? Because NO ONE is sharing the D@MNED THING! 2 peers, 7 seeds, ONLY 40% done, getting 0kB/s up and down. ouf of all the peoiploe who d/led it, they close it and chose not to share it anymore.

There will be at least two seeds for the weekend, minimum. They are mine, in supeseed mode for max efficiency. ABC is showing a total BW of 450KB/sec, and 7 seeds and 33 peers.

Interesting, I got the error, went back in and it dropped my back at number 5,.. now 4....

Woohoo.... chuggin' away at 66.8kb/sec. Only 2.25 hours to go![]()
btw, I'm using Mozilla Firebird. Y'know how you get randomly dumped from Micro$oft's site if you're using any browser except IE? I wonder if it's reciprocal on Linux sites?!
I got both the Developer download and the regular OS downloaded without any errors. Only got dumped once and let me back in to my same place in line. I think it just doesn't like you using Internet Explorer. I got dumped regularly trying to download it at work using IE but as soon as I came home and used Mozilla I was fine.
Thanks for the tip!
